Empowering Women through Awareness – Punjab Food Authority Observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Pakpattan

In connection with October Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025, the Punjab Food Authority (Nutrition Section, Pakpattan) successfully conducted an Awareness Seminar and Nutrition Camp at Pasban Public Girls High School, Pakpattan, under the directions of the competent authority. The session aimed to educate young girls about the importance of early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and the role of nutrition in cancer prevention and overall women’s health. Around 70 participants attended the session, and 50 clients were catered through the nutrition camp.

The session covered key topics including breast cancer warning signs, myths and facts, self-examination techniques, and ten preventive habits against breast cancer. Participants were also briefed on essential nutrients for women, addressing common deficiencies such as iron, calcium, and vitamin D, along with guidance on food safety and hygiene. Informational brochures were distributed, and the participants appreciated the efforts of the Punjab Food Authority for promoting women’s health and awareness through such educational initiatives.
