Seminar on Food Safety, Nutrition & Food Poisoning Prevention at Ghousia Ghee & Oil Industries

In alignment with the vision of the Director General Punjab Food Authority and under the guidance of the Deputy Director Operations DG Khan, a focused seminar was conducted at Ghousia Ghee & Oil Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., DG Khan. The session was attended by approximately 36 participants, including 20 catered clients, and aimed to promote awareness among factory workers about the critical role of hygiene, personal safety, and nutrition in food production. The objective was to equip participants with essential knowledge on safe food handling practices, the importance of balanced diets, and strategies to prevent foodborne illnesses in industrial settings.

During the seminar, workers were educated on various aspects of food safety, including contamination sources such as unclean hands, improper storage, and pest exposure. Emphasis was laid on maintaining personal hygiene through proper handwashing, wearing gloves, uniforms, and hairnets. Nutrition basics were also discussed, highlighting the role of ghee in moderation within a balanced diet. Participants learned to identify symptoms and causes of food poisoning (like Salmonella and E. coli) and were guided on safe practices both at work and home. Additionally, simple home remedies and hydrating recipes for managing food poisoning and dehydration were shared to promote health awareness beyond the workplace.
