Punjab Food Authority Hosts Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Screening Camp in Toba Tek Singh

In collaboration with PFA Ambassador University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Sub Campus Toba Tek Singh, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Nutritional Screening Camp. The event took place at two locations: the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Pirmahal and the Government Girls High School in the same district. The seminar aimed to educate the public about healthy eating habits and food safety regulations. Approximately 450 students attended the sessions, with 200 participants in the first session and 250 in the second, receiving counseling on nutrition and health.

Key topics discussed included an introduction to the Punjab Food Authority and its wings, the importance of a sustainable healthy diet, and the Punjab Institution Food Standard Regulations. The seminar also focused on the nutritional requirements for young teenage girls, particularly addressing anemia and hormonal issues. Participants learned about balanced diets, the food guide pyramid, and the work of PFA’s nutritional clinics. The session concluded with a Q&A, allowing students to address their concerns and deepen their understanding of nutrition.
