Punjab Food Authority DG Khan Conducts Nutrition & Food Safety Awareness Seminar

On the directions of the Competent Authority, Punjab Food Authority organized a comprehensive seminar and nutrition assessment camp at Jinnah Institute of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, DG Khan. The event engaged approximately 300 participants, while around 150 individuals benefited from on-site nutrition assessments, including body weight, body fat, visceral fat, and BMI measurements. The session aimed to raise awareness on critical public health concerns such as food safety, food poisoning, gastroenteritis prevention, and nutrition management.

Key discussions covered dehydration management, food safety hazards, and the prevention and treatment of gastroenteritis and food poisoning. Participants were guided on identifying symptoms, implementing preventive measures, and applying dietary interventions, including WHO’s homemade ORS preparation and BRAT diet protocol. The institute’s management appreciated Punjab Food Authority’s continuous efforts in promoting community health and fostering a culture of food safety and balanced nutrition.
