Punjab Food Authority Conducts Nutrition Awareness Seminar on Dehydration at SHMS Nursing College, Vehari

On May 19, 2025, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Vehari, under the directions of the Director General and the supervision of the Deputy Director Operations, successfully organized a Nutrition Awareness Seminar at SHMS Nursing College, Vehari.

 

The session, led by the Nutrition Section, aimed to educate students and staff on the critical issue of dehydration, especially in the summer season. With a total of 50 participants, the seminar commenced with an introduction to PFA’s mission, departments, and operational framework, creating awareness about its vital role in public health and food safety.

The seminar covered key aspects of dehydration including its causes, symptoms, and potential health complications such as heat stroke, kidney damage, and electrolyte imbalances. Participants were informed about preventive measures and early signs to watch for, such as fatigue, dizziness, and dark-colored urine. The session was part of PFA’s Summer Dehydration Awareness Campaign and received positive feedback from the college administration, who praised the authority’s commitment to promoting health and nutrition among youth.
