PFA DG Khan Raises Awareness on Dehydration, Food Safety & Expired Food Risks at TEVTA Seminar

The Nutrition Section of the Punjab Food Authority Dera Ghazi Khan conducted a highly impactful awareness seminar at the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), DG Khan. Attended by approximately 180 participants, the session addressed critical public health topics such as dehydration, gastroenteritis, food poisoning, and the dangers of consuming expired food. Experts from the authority highlighted preventive strategies, emergency care guidelines, and dietary protocols, including the BRAT diet and WHO recommended homemade ORS formula to effectively manage moderate and severe cases of dehydration and gastroenteritis.
Participants gained valuable insights into food safety hazards, the significance of the FIFO (First In, First Out) principle, and practical guidance on maintaining a balanced diet to prevent illness. The session also emphasized diabetic-friendly hydration alternatives, such as coconut water and cucumber water. The seminar concluded with a comprehensive overview of the Punjab Food Authority’s mission and vision, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding public health through education, awareness, and responsible food practices.
