The Nutrition Section of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Faisalabad conducted a Nutrition Awareness and Screening Camp at Sundas Foundation. The event focused on educating participants, especially those affected by Thalassemia, about the importance of nutrition in managing the condition. The camp, which included 55 participants, provided insights into foods to emphasize, such as red meat, poultry, fish, legumes, leafy greens, and nuts, while advising on limiting foods high in iron, fats, and sugar to prevent complications like iron overload and weight gain.
During the event, Deputy Director Operations PFA Faisalabad, Ammar Javed, visited the medical screening lab and wards at Sundas Foundation. He interacted with the attendees and distributed gift hampers to the children, promoting the initiative’s message of supporting Thalassemia patients through better nutrition. This camp served as an important step in raising awareness about how dietary choices can improve health outcomes for Thalassemia patients and the general public alike.
