Food Safety & Nutrition Awareness Seminar PFA Toba Tek Singh

Under the directives of the competent authority, Punjab Food Authority Toba Tek Singh conducted a Nutrition Awareness Seminar and Camp at Madrasa Muhammadia 297 GB. The event aimed to promote awareness on key public health issues such as food safety, food poisoning, gastroenteritis prevention, dehydration, and balanced nutrition. Approximately 115 participants attended the seminar, while 60 clients received individualized nutrition assessments. The camp provided education on symptoms, causes, and preventive strategies for common summer illnesses, as well as guidance on dietary management and safe hydration practices.

Key highlights included an introduction to Punjab Food Authority’s mission, demonstrations on WHO-recommended homemade ORS, and practical insights into handling food safety hazards and expired food risks. The session also emphasized the role of a balanced diet in preventing chronic diseases. An interactive worksheet activity on healthy food choices engaged the participants, and nutrition brochures were distributed for further learning. The session concluded with a Q/A round, where participants actively discussed their concerns. The efforts of PFA were highly appreciated by the staff and attendees.
