Under the direction of the Worthy Director General of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) and the Deputy Director of Operations Faisalabad, the Nutrition Wing of PFA Faisalabad successfully held a project-based meeting in collaboration with the Benazir Income Support Program. This upcoming project, titled “Leveraging Social Protection to Enhance Adolescent Girls’ Nutrition in Pakistan,” is supported by the Federal German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) via GIZ, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), and the SP-SHP project.

1. Enhancing nutrition awareness among school-going girls aged 10-19.
2. Promoting awareness among iron-deficient adolescent girls in Pakistan.
3. GIZ mission scheduled a visit at the BISP office of the District Director Faisalabad, to discuss the implementation of the health and nutrition program for adolescent girls enrolled in the Taleemi Wazifa program.
4. Ensuring that adolescent girls receive adequate food, iron and folate supplements, and iron and iodine-fortified foods. Additionally, helping them delay their first pregnancy and protect themselves from sexually transmitted infections and other diseases to ensure they become healthy women.
5. Preventing malnutrition by raising nutrition awareness to identify and address various forms of malnutrition, including undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and overnutrition.
