The Nutrition Section of the Punjab Food Authority organized a blood donation awareness camp at their Head Office. This event aimed to collect blood donations for thalassemia patients and provide nutritional guidance to participants.
During the camp, twenty-eight faculty members were screened for nutritional deficiencies using anthropometric measurements and assessment forms. Following the assessments, personalized nutrition counseling was provided by qualified professionals to each participant. The camp also saw fourteen individuals stepping forward to donate blood, contributing to the much-needed supply for thalassemia patients.
The event was met with an enthusiastic response from both male and female faculty members, highlighting the community’s commitment to supporting thalassemia awareness and the importance of blood donation. This successful initiative underscores the vital role of nutrition and regular blood donations in improving health outcomes for those affected by thalassemia.
