Awareness Session on Balanced Diet, Dehydration & Food Safety by PFA Gujranwala

Upon the directions of the Director General Punjab Food Authority and Additional Director Operations Gujranwala Division, and under the supervision of the Deputy Director (Nutrition), the Nutrition Section of Punjab Food Authority (GRW) organized an awareness seminar in collaboration with Alif Restaurant, Gujranwala. The session was attended by around 50 participants, including restaurant staff, chefs, and management.

The primary objective of the seminar was to educate participants about the importance of maintaining hygiene, adopting a balanced diet, preventing dehydration, and reducing the risk of food poisoning. Emphasis was placed on how these practices can enhance health, concentration, and overall career growth in the food industry.

Key topics discussed during the session included:
• Establishment and functions of Punjab Food Authority
• Food safety practices from Farm to Fork
• Nutrition challenges and sustainable healthy diets
• Causes, prevention, and dietary treatment of dehydration and food poisoning
• Importance of adequate water intake and personal hygiene
• Lifestyle modification and prevention of banned items
• PFA helpline number 1223 for food-related complaints and guidance

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, allowing participants to clarify their queries. In the end, the management of Alif Restaurant Gujranwala appreciated PFA’s initiatives in raising awareness about food safety and nutrition within the food service sector.
