Punjab Food Authority (PFA) organized an informative awareness session at Government Graduate College for Women, Toba Tek Singh, under the directions of the competent authority.
The session was attended by 80 participants and focused on critical topics including the Electronic License Management System (ELMS), food safety, food safety hazards, food poisoning, and the growing issue of processed and junk food consumption. Participants were introduced to the roles and responsibilities of PFA, balanced diet concepts, food categories (Red, Yellow, Green), and how to read and interpret food labels. The session also highlighted safe food packaging materials and introduced PFA’s nutritional clinic and its services.
In addition to food safety, a special campaign on dehydration awareness and a dedicated segment on PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) were conducted, covering symptoms, causes, complications, and dietary management strategies. Practical demonstrations on ELMS registration, meal planning, and maintaining a healthy summer diet were also delivered. The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where staff members and students appreciated the valuable efforts and commitment of PFA in promoting food safety and public health awareness.
