The Nutrition Section of Punjab Food Authority (PFA), under the directions of worthy Director General, held a comprehensive nutrition screening camp and awareness seminar at the Salim Habib Education Complex in Toba Tek Singh. The event had a series of informative sessions and practical activities aimed at promoting better health, nutrition, and food safety practices, which was attended by around 200 participants. A nutrition expert from PFA led the seminar.
The seminar covered a wide range of topics essential to support a healthier lifestyle. Key discussions included an introduction to PFA and its various wings, an overview of food safety, and food categorization as per the Punjab Educational Institution Food Regulations. PFA’s nutrition expert emphasized the importance of a balanced diet, the role of diet in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and the specific nutritional requirements of women aged 16 to 20 years. Attendees were provided with valuable tips for a healthy lifestyle and information on the services offered by PFA’s Nutrition Clinic in Toba Tek Singh. The session also educated participants on how to register suggestions and complaints with the authority.
Furthermore, nutrition screening was conducted for 150 participants, and personalized diet plans were offered upon request. The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, allowing attendees to seek further clarification on various nutrition-related topics. Nutrition-focused brochures were distributed to reinforce the information shared, and the Principal of the Salim Habib Education Complex expressed appreciation for PFA’s efforts in enhancing community awareness and education on nutrition.
