On May 8th, 2024, the Nutrition Section of the Punjab Food Authority in Dera Ghazi Khan participated in an event commemorating the International Day of Thalassemia. Held at the Conference Hall of the Teaching Hospital in DG Khan, this event aimed to raise awareness about Thalassemia prevention among the public, staff, and faculty. The event was organized under the directions of the Deputy Director of the Nutrition Section, and it served as a vital platform for educating people about this genetic disorder. By marking this international day, the event sought to promote awareness, support, and inclusion for individuals affected by Thalassemia, as well as to emphasize the importance of prevention and timely treatment.
